Living in a Simulation - Digital Twins & AI with Danny Lange, Senior Vice President of AI, Unity

  • Late Lecture Bygning 303A, Auditorium 42 Kongens Lyngby, 2800 Denmark (map)

This is a past event.

The real world is a challenging place where it takes plenty of time and money to create stuff, which often breaks. Unproven solutions can be dangerous to us and have the potential to negatively impact the environment as well. What if we could dematerialize the world by living in a simulation instead? It sounds extreme, but this is exactly what you do when you play a video game. Using game technology, we can play out scenarios at great scale before taking them into the physical world. We have years of experience using simulations to advance the field of AI and now it is time to use AI as the flywheel that drives a virtuous feedback loop between the physical and virtual worlds. This flywheel has the potential to give us superhuman powers to deal with the many challenges we face from creating safe autonomous systems, improving healthcare, and to dealing with climate change.

Come join us for a free lecture with Danny Lange, Senior Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Unity. Danny Lange, took his PhD and Masters in Computer Science at DTU, and has since been involved in many exciting projects throughout his career. He played a big part leading the teams that was implementing and maintaining machine learning technologies in multiple large companies including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Uber.

Danny Lange has been with Unity Technologies since 2016, where artificial intelligence is playing an ever-increasing part in both gaming and simulation.

Free sandwiches are served after the event, where there is an opportunity to mingle and ask questions.

Please sign up here for reserving your seat and ordering your sandwich.

The event is supported by Tuborgfondet - making dreams come true.
